Â鶹 Youth in Government Club Hosts 12 Neighboring Schools for Annual Convention
Â鶹 Free Academy Youth in Government Club hosted 12 Orange County schools and over 200 Â鶹 for the annual Youth in Government convention. This convention mimics the political party conventions that nominate politicians for the general election. The Â鶹 Auditorium and Library were decorated with balloons and set up for Â鶹 to give speeches.
Each school has a delegation that votes for the speakers that they find most compelling. Some of the positions that Â鶹 Â鶹 ran for were Attorney General, Assembly, State Senator, County Clerk, Family Court Judge, and Congresswoman. Anita Akpan and Alexandria Crawford served as master of ceremonies for opening remarks and recognitions. Â鶹’s Jr ROTC color guard presented the flag and the Â鶹 Madrigals sang the National Anthem. Â鶹’s Video productions class also participated by recording the winning speeches.
