National School Breakfast Week | March 4-8
This week is National School Breakfast Week! The Â鶹 Enlarged City School District offers free breakfast to all Â鶹 as they arrive to school each morning. In addition to providing a nutritious meal to start the day, the federal school breakfast program saves precious time during the morning rush and allows families to re-allocate their family budget to help meet their needs. According to the School Nutrition Association, children who eat breakfast are more likely to:
- Reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math
- Score higher on standardized tests
- Have better concentration and memory
- Be more alert and maintain a healthy weight
